After the Roman presence, silence fell; the presence of the Longobards was probable (hypothesis of the double parish - Catholic and Arian - of Illasi), which can also be deduced from the choice of San Giorgio as patron saint (the Longobards had a particular devotion to 'warrior' saints). We have to wait until the early 19th century to see the Cazzano area involved in a great drama such as the Napoleonic wars: the episode that most affected Cazzano was in 1809 when a battle took place in the Val Tramigna, which ended with the victory of the Austrians.
